What is Polar Analytics?

Polar Analytics is a marketing analytics platform founded in 2020 in Paris, built exclusively for Shopify brands.

Its main products are multi-source BI dashboards, a first-party tracking pixel with 10+ attribution models, incrementality testing, audience pushes to Klaviyo, and a managed Snowflake warehouse, sold as separate modules priced on your annual GMV.

Metorik logo

What is Metorik?

Metorik is an analytics, reporting, email marketing platform founded in 2016, built natively for WooCommerce and Shopify.

It combines real-time reports, segmentation, subscription analytics, cost and profit tracking, Engage email automation, and the Tori AI analyst. Every feature is on every plan, from $25/month.

Searching for "Polar Analytics vs Metorik"? Same comparison, either way around. Here's how they differ in practice.

For the record, with sources.

Polar Analytics publishes AI-generated comparison pages, including one about Metorik, and several of its claims are flat-out wrong, misleading, or out of date. Corrections below; everything else on this page stands on its own.

Polar claims — "No MCP, no AI" Incorrect

Metorik shipped its built-in MCP in May 2026 and Tori, its AI Sidekick, in August 2026. Both are included on every plan, with no per-message fees or token usage to monitor.

Polar claims — "Data locked in the platform" Incorrect

Every report exports to CSV, exports run on schedules, webhooks push data to any endpoint, there's a read-only API, and MCP connects Claude or ChatGPT straight to your data. Your data is always yours.

Polar claims — "Basic profit view" Misleading

Metorik tracks COGS, ad-spend from 8 platforms, Google Sheets synced costs, shipping, fees, and operational costs, down to per-order profit, with historical re-calculations if you need to update old data.

Polar claims — "Starting at ~$400/month" Misleading

Polar's lists no such plan: the Core Plan starts at $720/month and BI alone at $510/month for stores under $5M GMV (September 2026). The only ~$400 product is the Klaviyo Audiences add-on, which isn't a plan.

We've asked Polar Analytics to correct these claims and, as of September 2026, haven't had a reply.

Made for Shopify and WooCommerce, and loved by both.

Polar calls Metorik "WooCommerce-focused" – here's the reality:

Metorik has helped WooCommerce stores grow since 2016 and supported Shopify stores since 2020. Metorik works almost identically on both, supports Shopify Plus, and one subscription covers multiple stores, including full support for WooCommerce Subscriptions.

Polar Analytics is Shopify-only. Their FAQ says Polar is "purpose-built for Shopify", and as of September 2026 there's no WooCommerce support in their product. If you run Woo, or Woo and Shopify side by side, Polar isn't an option.

Email marketing seamlessly integrated, not handed off to Klaviyo.

Metorik sends abandoned-cart emails, transactional email, welcome flows, and broadcasts, all triggered by the same powerful real-time segmenting system as your reports.

Polar Analytics doesn't send email. Its Klaviyo Audiences product, a separate module starting from $390/month, pushes segments and events into Klaviyo so Klaviyo can send the email. Useful if you're a Klaviyo shop, but it means Polar's price sits on top of an email platform, not instead of one.

Attribution & Data Warehouses: Polar's turf.

Let's be clear about where Polar has an edge. Its first-party pixel does cross-device tracking with over 10 attribution models. It runs geo-lift incrementality testing, every customer gets a managed Snowflake warehouse, and its benchmarks compare your store against 4,000+ brands.

Just check the price first: incrementality tests cost $3,200 to $6,000 each, and SQL access to your data, faster-than-daily data refresh, and Google Sheets sync are ALL paid add-ons (their pricing page, Sep 2026).

Metorik tracks attribution at the order level (UTMs, referrers, channels) and focuses on profit: syncing spend from 8 ad platforms alongside COGS, shipping, fees, and business overheads, so every report shows what you actually made, and kept. No modeled estimates, no pixel to install.

If multi-touch attribution and incrementality testing is a must-have for your business, Polar is built for it, just make sure you budget for it. If you need to know where your customers came from, and how much money the business actually made, Metorik answers that at a fraction of the price and complexity.

AI Sidekick: included vs paid add-ons.

Tori & MCP

Tori is an AI eCommerce sidekick with full spacial awareness: ask about sales, attribution, customers, subscriptions, or profit and get accurate answers with a link to the report behind them.

The built-in MCP connects Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor straight to your store data. Free on all plans.

Ask Polar & Agents

Ask Polar answers questions on your dashboards, an agent suite covers analysis, media buying, and inventory planning, and there's an MCP too.

Broad but it's pay as you go: the Email Marketer agent runs $1,500 to $2,550 per month extra, priced on your Klaviyo revenue (September 2026).

Pricing: orders vs a cut of your GMV.

Metorik prices by average order volume, with a starter plan at just $25/month, every feature included on every plan, unlimited users, and a generous monthly email allowance, cancel anytime.

Polar prices on your annual GMV, in bands: the Core Plan starts at $720–$750 per month for stores under $5M GMV, and climbs to $21,210/month at $250M+. BI alone starts at $510/month. There's no free trial and no self-serve signup; every plan starts with a sales demo.

Comparison FAQs

Does Polar Analytics work with WooCommerce?

No. Polar Analytics is built exclusively for Shopify.Their website states "purpose-built for Shopify" and as of September 2026 there is no mention of WooCommerce support anywhere in the product. Metorik has been built for WooCommerce since 2016, and Shopify since 2020.

Is Metorik cheaper than Polar Analytics?

For nearly every store, dramatically so. A store doing $1M – $2.5M per year pays around $150/month, $1,800 per year all-in, including email marketing and AI.

Polar prices on your annual GMV: their Core Plan starts at $720 – $750 per month for stores under $5M GMV (September 2026), or $8,640+ per year, before adding an email platform.

Does Metorik have an MCP or AI features?

Absolutely. Metorik launched its built-in MCP in May 2026, connecting Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor directly to your store data, and Tori, its in-app AI eCommerce Sidekick in August 2026. Both are included on every plan, including the free trial, with no per-message fees or tokens to monitor. Polar's comparison page claims Metorik has neither – that information is out of date.

Can I export my data from Metorik?

Of course. Every report and segment exports to CSV with customisable columns. Exports can run automatically on a schedule and outbound webhooks push data to any endpoint. Sales digests deliver to email and Slack and the API serves your data wherever you need it. The MCP lets AI assistants query it all directly. Your store's database in Metorik remains the source of truth throughout.

Does Metorik do multi-touch attribution?

No. Metorik tracks customer and order source at the order level (UTMs, referrers, and channels) and focuses on cost and profit tracking, syncing ad spend from 8 platforms alongside COGS, shipping, and fees. If you need a first-party pixel, multi-touch attribution models, or incrementality testing, that's Polar's arena – just note incrementality tests are priced per test ($3,200 – $6,000 each, September 2026).

Does Polar Analytics send email?

No. Polar has no email sending of its own. It has a Klaviyo Audiences add-on from $390/month which pushes segments and events into Klaviyo. Metorik Engage is seamlessly integrated with your analytics: abandoned cart emails, win-backs, welcome flows, broadcasts, and transactional email, triggered by real-time segments, with a generous send allowance on every plan.

Is there a free trial of Polar Analytics?

No. As of September 2026 Polar has no free trial and no self-serve signup. Every plan is gated by a sales demo, and their Shopify App Store reviews' few complaints are mostly about exactly that. Metorik's trial is the full product for 30 days: no credit card, no demo call, and 1,000 free email sends included.

Does Metorik support Shopify?

Yes, fully, since 2020. Metorik has dedicated Shopify reports, analytics, and exports, supports Shopify Plus stores, and is rated 4.9/5 on the Shopify App Store. Polar's comparison page incorrectly calls Metorik "WooCommerce-focused" – in reality Metorik treats both platforms as first-class, which matters if you run Woo and Shopify side by side.
