Dozens of Metorik order cards, each with a customer avatar, order number, value and name, funnelling down into a narrower highlighted set: a segment becoming an audience.

Powerful Audience Builder

Any cohort you can imagine, as an audience.

Start from customers, orders or subscriptions, refine with 500+ filters with "all" or "any" logic, even across record types.

Built from your full store history, not the last 180 days of pixel fires:

  • Bought product A but never product B, ever
  • Subscription renews in the next 14 days
  • 2+ orders, nothing in the last 90 days

The estimated audience size updates as you add filters, so you know the audience is large enough before you sync it.

Trusted by leading Shopify and WooCommerce stores:

Metorik's new ad audience screen: Facebook chosen as the destination, an audience named Repeat Customer, stale last 90 days, filters for Order Count greater than 1 and Last Ordered over 90 days ago, and a summary showing an estimated audience of 1,625 customers with a Create and start syncing button.
Always in Sync

Updates itself and syncs automatically.

Whenever something changes on your store – updated orders, new customers, failed subscription – Metorik re-runs the filters, adds the people who now match and removes the ones who don't.

Exclusions that actually exclude last week's buyers. Lookalike seeds that don't go stale. Set the audience up once and it keeps itself current while you spend time on the rest.

Audiences performance marketers build first:

Exclude recent buyers

Customers who purchased in the last 30/60/90 days, synced as an exclusion on every prospecting campaign.

Seed lookalikes from your best customers

Top 10% by lifetime spend or anyone with 3+ orders, as the source for a 1% lookalike.

Win back lapsed customers

Last ordered 90+ days ago and no active subscription – retargeted with a compelling offer.

Cross-sell by product

Bought product A, never bought product B, shown creative for B. Or subscriptions renewing in 14 days, shown the upgrade path.

Seven customer identifiers hashed before syncing to a Facebook Custom Audience A Metorik customer record with email, phone, name, location, postcode, country and external ID flows through a SHA-256 hashing step into a Facebook Custom Audience, where each hashed value is matched. 7 hashed identifiers, not just an email address.

Metorik hashes email, phone, name, location, postcode, country and an external ID before any data leaves Metorik. Facebook matches across all of them, not just an email address, so more of your customers are successfully matched.

Every audience shows how many people synced, how many were skipped or rejected, and Facebook's estimated reach.

Facebook needs at 100+ people in an audience before it can be used, and they recommend 1,000 or more as a lookalike source. Audience syncing works best for stores with a large customer base to match.

Metorik's grouped segment builder matching any of two filter groups, including Order Total greater than $500, Billing Country is United States and Order Status not cancelled, failed or refunded, above a table of matching customers with location, total spent and join date.
You're in Control

Resync, pause, copy. Your audiences, your call.

Force sync manually after a profile import. Pause an audience during a sale and resume it after. Duplicate one, change a single filter, and test two seeds against each other, and archive audiences you're done with.

Every sync is logged so when someone on your team asks why an audience changed size, the history has the answer.

Facebook audience syncing live in three steps:

1. Connect Facebook

Connect your Facebook ad account from Metorik's integrations, grant the Ads Management permission and accept Facebook's Custom Audience terms.

2. Build the audience

Choose a new or existing Custom Audience from Facebook, then select customers, orders or subscriptions, add your filters and check the estimated audience size.

3. Create & start syncing

The first sync runs straight away, then Metorik keeps it in sync automatically after that. Audience sync is included on every Metorik plan, with no add-on and no per-audience fee.

What is Facebook audience sync?

Metorik's audience sync turns a segment into a Facebook Custom Audience and keeps the two locked in step. Build a segment from customers, orders or subscriptions, with any of Metorik's 500+ filters, sync it once, and Metorik updates it automatically – adding people who now match and removing people who don't. You'll use the audience in Ads Manager like any other Custom Audience – for retargeting, as an exclusion list, or as the source for a lookalike audience.

Does it work for WooCommerce and Shopify stores?

Absolutely. Connect your WooCommerce or Shopify store to Metorik and every customer, order and subscription is available to filter. For WooCommerce stores in particular there is no native way to keep a segment-based Custom Audience up to date, so this fills a real gap.

How often does the audience sync?

Metorik keeps your lists up to date automatically, and you can force refresh it any time you like with the Sync now button. Note that Facebook can take up to 24 to 48 hours to process an update on its side, so the audience size shown in Ads Manager may lag Metorik's count slightly.

What's the minimum audience size?

Facebook says they need at least 100 matched people before an audience can be used for ads, and recommends 1,000 or more as the source for a lookalike audience. Metorik shows an audience size estimate live while you build the segment, so you can widen the filters before you sync if the audience is too small. Audience sync works best for stores with a reasonably large customer base.

What data is sent to Facebook?

Email, phone number, name, city and region, postcode, country and an external ID. Every value is hashed with SHA-256 before it leaves Metorik, which is the format Facebook requires. Facebook compares the hashes against its own hashed user data to find matches and never receives the plain-text values. Sending several identifiers rather than only an email is what lifts the match rate.

Is this the same as Shopify Audiences?

No. Shopify Audiences is Shopify's own product, available to Shopify Plus stores in certain regions, that builds prospecting audiences from data pooled across participating Shopify merchants. Metorik's audience sync works with your own customers, orders and subscriptions, on Shopify or WooCommerce, using whatever filters you choose. You can use both.

What Facebook permissions does Metorik need?

Ads Read, Ads Management, and acceptance of Facebook's Custom Audience terms for the ad account. If you already connected Facebook to Metorik for ad cost reporting, you'll be asked to add the Ads Management permission the first time you create an audience. Metorik only ever creates and updates the audiences you set up; it never touches your campaigns.

Does audience sync cost extra?

No. It's included on every Metorik plan with no add-on and no per-audience fee. Create as many audiences as you need. Start a free 30-day trial to try it with your own store data.
